Dear San José Clean Energy (SJCE) Customer,
As you likely know, the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the state agency responsible for managing the California power grid, has issued a Flex Alert beginning tomorrow Saturday, September 5th and extending through Monday, September 7th between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. All customers are encouraged to reduce as much demand for electricity as their operations allow during those hours. Our team at SJCE wanted to share this information in case your team was unaware.
Additionally, we are interested in learning from our commercial customers what steps they are taking to meet these Flex Alerts. If your team has instituted new procedures, adopted a new technology, or taken any other actions that you think may be valuable for others, please let us know. We can either anonymously include those suggestions in future recommendations to customers or work with your team to highlight your organizations efforts to the broader San José community.
Unfortunately heat waves and the associated strain on our power grid are likely to be a part of our future for at least several more years. Please let us know how your team is adapting or if there is anything our team can do to support you.
