Labor Day Book and Puzzle Swap

Monday, September 7
Drop-by anytime between Noon & 3:00 p.m.
First Parish in Concord by main office door

Do you have jigsaw puzzles you’ve completed? Swap them! Looking for something new to read? Trade your old books for new-to-you titles! One way we can support each other is by gathering some books and puzzles to exchange with our community. All ages and levels welcome.

*Please wear face masks and socially distance while swapping books and puzzles. Boxes of books and puzzles will be placed on tables near the parking lot. Amy and Dawn will be there to greet you! Even if you do not have anything to swap, we have a special gift for you. Questions? Email Amy: afreedman@firstparish.org

NEW Family Service!
We want to let you know about an exciting development! On Sunday, September 13, 9:30-9:50 a.m. we will offer our first Family Service! This 20 minute service will be streamed LIVE on our First Parish in Concord Facebook page, within our Family Facebook Group  and YouTube channel. A recording will also be available so you can share it with your children at another time.

Each Family Service will be hosted by Rev. Amy Freedman and Dawn Van Patten with special guests from our congregation! There will be music from Anderson Manuel and our new Children's Choir Director, Brendan Ferrari. Each service will be engaging, uplifting, and include questions for you to explore with your family through out the week.

Our Family Service will offer spiritual teachings, inspiration, and resources for your family to feel connected and supported. There will also be opportunities to meet in small groups to go deeper together. More details coming soon!

Coming of Age Orientation

Sunday, September 13, 4:00-5:15 p.m.
We are happy to announce that the 2020-21 co-leaders of Coming of Age are Kristin Moore and Jim Tull! Ninth graders and their parents or guardians are invited to a special Zoom gathering to begin our Coming of Age journey together. The Orientation will be led by Kristin, Jim, and Amy. Even though our meetings will be online, we are planning engaging ways to connect, reflect, and have fun together. Our Coming of Age program is designed for 9th Graders to acknowledge the transition between childhood and adulthood while exploring spiritual practices and big questions. Coming of Age will meet every other Sunday for 75 minutes beginning on September 13. Each CoA participant will also have a personal mentor selected with input from your teen later in the program. We will review our plans and share a ritual to begin our year together.
