First signs of Autumn:   the geese are migrating, the leaves are beginning to change,
the days are shorter, the nights are cooler and it's apple picking and pumpkin harvesting time!

Cards Inspired by Kristine Werner

My inspiration this week was a video of Kristine Werner's (LINK) where she featured a Concord & 9th Brush Stripe Background Stamp that I HAD TO HAVE along with the Concord & 9th cube Inks.  So, okay, I didn't get to work with them until yesterday (as in Sept. 5th).  I was totally intrigued by the technique she used.  I tried her exact technique with the Concord & 9th ink cubes, but I also ventured into using Distress Oxides as well.

I created a total of six cards using Kristine's technique.  I also created the same floral elements for all six cards just to save time and to get this E-News done in time!

Here's my first attempt at inking the brush stripes with the Concord & 9th inks.  Know that I inked 6 card backgrounds first and then went back to create the floral elements.  The floral elements (Stampendous) were all stamped and painted with Gelatos in one large batch on regular cardstock and then diecut.  They were all colored the same and I hoped they all worked with the backgrounds.  I used Simon Says Stamp die flowers for added elements.  Gold splatters added the finishing touch.

Just playing with different color combinations here.
Moved toward the corals, pinks and teals for my coastal vibe.  Notice the flowers are all the same color combinations that work with each background.
The next two cards use Dixtress Oxides, specifically the brand new Crackling Campfire!  So fall-ish!
This background is kind of a combination of the Concord & 9th colors and Distress Oxides.  I was experimenting and it kind of worked!  This one was embossed with a dot background so I didn't stamp a sentiment.  I may add a diecut sentiment however.
Here's a final Concord & 9th background with a little more bold colors.  It was so fun to try different inks and see what happened.  Again, notice how the same florals worked for every card!
Have a lovely Labor Day weekend!

XOXO
