My name is Sylvia, a volunteer with the Women’s Caucus of Democrats Abroad UK.  I am writing to you as one voter to another to make sure you are ready to vote in Presidential, Senate, House, and local elections this November.  I’m sure you know that every vote really will count!

Have you requested your ballot yet this year?  If not, or if you’re not sure, you can request your ballot and be sure you are registered to vote with just one form.  As an overseas voter, you should request an absentee ballot every calendar year you want to vote.  Many states will only send your ballot if you submit a request form this year.

You can do this by going to VoteFromAbroad.org and filling out the form.  Then sign and send it in.  I strongly recommend that you ask for your blank ballot to be sent to you by email – it’s the fastest way.  After you send in your form, be sure to check with your Local Election Official that they got it.  You’ll find all the contact information you need at VoteFromAbroad.org

Ballots go out by September 19, so mark your calendar and check your spam folder!  MAIL, or email it back if your state allows, as soon as possible; international mail to the US is much slower than usual this year.

May I also urge you to send in the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) today as a backup to protect your vote.  It’s a special backup ballot specifically for overseas voters to make sure your vote gets counted.  For complete instructions on how to use a FWAB, just go to www.votefromabroad.org/fwab .  Send in your FWAB now – and also send in your official ballot when you get it later.  Don’t worry, this isn’t voting twice!  If both your FWAB and official ballot reach your state in time, they will discard the FWAB and only count the official ballot.

It’s important that Americans everywhere VOTE – the need for change is so clear right now!  So please share this information with other US voters you know who are living abroad.  And if you know any US citizens who need help with voting, and any who are turning 18 soon, do ask them to contact info@democratsabroad.org

Thank you
Sylvia
