Throughout the next coming weeks I will take you on a trip down memory lane. Each week will have a different theme, with work that you have never seen of me before. Like... landscape paintings for example!

We’re starting with some travel sketches I did three years ago whilst walking the Camino de Santiago. I walked the full 800km and brought my cigar box along to do a small painting in each place I rested. It was an awesome way of traveling and keeping memories. I highly recommend it :)

For the painting geeks amongst you who are itching to ask how I handled the drying times of oil paint: Liquin, ladies and gents. I left the painting to dry on the bedside table in the hostel and overnight it would dry to the touch. I then transported it in the secret compartment of my cigar box until completely dry. I would, however, gallantly discourage you to paint in oils when you're on the road. It makes a terrible mess. Save yourself the trouble and use gouache or egg tempera instead.
