THANK YOU FROM THE KIDS AND VIF’s!!

Happy Labor Day, the traditional start of our Annual Warrior Beach Week, it’s difficult to believe that the 2020 event has been postponed.   Since that first magical summer in 2013, the Bethany Beach extended community has positively impacted over 1,000+ Warriors, spouses, kids, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents, and friends who helped their Warrior in tough times.  It is disappointing that we cannot add to that list this year.

But following the adage that “when much is given, much will be received” we recently received a few notes from children of Very Important Families (VIF).   We also have the many VIF Thank You notes from our first 7 years.  We hope to keep a warm spot in your heart and remind all who support us of the long-lasting benefits their efforts bestow.   Read them as if they have been written to you directly because they have been!  Further the Board wants to THANK all of you who helped make the past 7 years possible!

As more hands joined in each year, we adopted the phrase “Many Hands Make Light Work”.  Thousands of volunteer hands:   donating beach homes, hosting, baking cakes and cookies, thrilling kids with activities, car shows, golf events, taking family photos on the beach, boat rides, water sports, care givers coffee, horse riding lessons, being anonymous angels, solving problems and more.

Thank you to over 100 businesses and major sponsors.  Gifts of food goods and services to make sure every VIF could enjoy a stress-free vacation.  As these THANK YOU’s will show, your efforts really matter.

Operation SEAs The Day has become a part of our community’s heart and soul.   We hope everyone in the Bethany Beach area remains safe during these challenging times.

Everyone looks forward to the 8th Warrior Beach week -- 9/7 – 9/12, 2021.

THANK YOU ALL –

Notes from VIF children

After my Dad suffered from a traumatic brain injury, it was hard on everybody in our family. All we did was take my Dad to the doctor and nobody was really there for us. But when we went to OSTD, my Dad changed. He was happy again and he loved the ocean. OSTD helped our family lovingly. We had a host family for a week but they are still here for us today. We enjoyed every second of the week we were there. It was good for us to get a break, especially for my Mom who always kept our family going. Thank you OSTD for helping our family heal. 😊
