One-off activities and complete resource packages
We’ve curated many of our resources with Māori content in one handy location – making it easy to scan resources and link to articles, activities and media. We’ve also curated resources in te reo Māori that feature hekaheka (native fungi) and ika taketake (native freshwater fish) and more. These curations make it easy to plan for a single session or a more extensive unit.
Professional development
Our recorded PLD webinars offer suggestions on how to incorporate mātauranga and te reo Māori when teaching science. Each webinar features prominent Māori educators and scientists.
Each webinar has links to relevant Hub content and other useful resources.
Support for distance learning
As COVID-19 continues to disrupt learning in Aotearoa and around the world, the Hub continues to develop resources that support distance learning. We have new resources that do not require internet access – simply print and distribute. There are also links to Home Learning TV episodes and supporting material. The TV episodes for middle and upper primary science aren’t just for home – they are perfect for classroom use, too! Watch as Shawn ‘The Science Guy’ Cooper introduces a topic and follow it up with Hub resources!
