Happy Labor Day!!
Why do we celebrate Labor Day? According to the US Department of Labor, "the nation pays tribute on Labor Day to the creator of so much of the nation's strength, freedom, and leadership – the American worker."
Consider this: through world wars & times of economic instability present & past, the US laborer's productivity sustains the availability of goods & services to carry our nation through to strength again. We've had quite a wild ride in the last 6 months. The role of the laborer is as significant now, as it ever was.
Essential workers battle COVID-19 on the front lines daily. Teams of scientists work feverishly to develop vaccines & more accurate tests. Manufacturers stand ready to produce millions of goods to fulfill the sustained need. Innovators are turning dreams into new goods & services to adapt billions of people around the globe to our "new normal". Millions of factory workers produce our new life staples: masks/PPE & medical equipment to heal the sick & our devices to stay "connected".
Builders & contractors toil each day on home renovations & constructing new homes to make "WFH", "sheltering in place" & #quarantinelife more tolerable! From CEOs to the custodians sweeping up after the crews leave for the day, it's a collaborative effort!
Where would we be without "labor"?
To all who contribute to our country's vital economy, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
HAPPY LABOR DAY!! I hope you enjoyed the long weekend.
Warmly,
