Falls on the farm

Figures for farming released by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for the 12 months ending 31 March 2020, show that four people were killed as a result of a fall from height, representing 19 per cent of the total fatalities. These included a fall from a fragile roof, a telescopic handler and a fork lift truck.

APPG: Working at Height in Rural Locations

The September meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Working at Height heard presentations from Steve Leniec, chair of the National Agricultural Group, Unite the Union; Tina Morgan, chair of the IOSH Rural Industries Group; Tom Price, policy advisor at the NFU; and Mike Pryke representing the Rural Industrial Design and Building Association (RIDBA). NAS Working at Height Campaign

The No Falls Foundation will contribute to a week long height safety campaign organised and delivered by the National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors (NAS). Dates are Monday, 28 September - Friday, 2 October.

Free ladder safety pack

Through its Get a Grip campaign the Ladder Association - in conjunction with RoSPA -  is promoting the safe use of ladders and stepladders at work and at home. The campaign’s message is clear: If it’s right to use a ladder, use the right ladder and get trained to use it safely. Making the news

The September issue of the RIDBA Journal, the quarterly magazine of the Rural and Industrial Design and Building Association, features an article describing the work and role of the Foundation. RIDBA is the principal trade association for the modern agriculture and industrial buildings industry in the UK.

HandUp scheme to help unemployed workers

Foundation champions PASMA and Ladder Association are supporting unemployed workers and the charity with a new initiative, HandUp. Anyone who believes a PASMA or Ladder card would help them find work at this challenging time can apply for a free course at participating training centres, with £1 going to the Foundation every time the offer is taken up.

Annual charity ball

As a result of the pandemic it has been decided to postpone the Annual Charity Ball for 2020. It will now take place on Saturday, 30 October 2021, at the Coombe Abbey Hotel, Warwickshire.
