State Senators write Gov. Ricketts to extend food aid.
Twenty Nebraska state senators wrote a letter to Gov. Pete Ricketts on Monday, asking the governor sign to join every other state in the country in extending emergency food benefits during the pandemic.

Addition funds have been made available to SNAP recipients across the country. According to state figures, if Gov. Ricketts were to sign the extension, about 60% of Nebraska's food stamps recipients would benefit.

Temps dip into 30s.

Tuesday night lows fell to 39 in Milford and as low as 37 in Utica, according to numbers provided by the National Weather Service. Total rainfall amounts in the area had not yet been calculated.

All of Tuesday's scheduled high school events were postponed due to weather conditions.

College athletes are scheduled to return to competition in Seward today with Concordia hosting Bellevue for a soccer doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs men's golf team started its season in Beatrice on Tuesday and Concordia volleyball is scheduled to start its season tonight with a match against Midland.
