Cambridge Library is slowly returning to the new normal. Major events remain online, but Story Time and Baby Rhyme Time have returned to the Library. These school holidays, we may not have a Royal Show, but we do have show bags! Available at Cambridge Library from the 29th of September to the 9th of October 2020. And, whether you choose to wander out yonder or stay home, we have new stock to suit you.
Meet Monica McInerney - Thursday 22 October 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm

Join Public Libraries Western Australia for an online Zoom author talk with Monica McInerney when she speaks about her latest novel The Godmothers.

Eliza Miller grew up in Australia, the daughter of a troubled young mother. With the constant support of two watchful godmothers, she always felt loved and secure. However, just before her eighteenth birthday, a tragic event changes her life.

Thirteen years on, Eliza is devoted to her job and avoids relationships. But an enticing invitation from one of her godmothers prompts a move to Edinburgh and a place in a busy family. Yet, amidst the chaos, Eliza begins to blossom. She finds herself not only hopeful about the future, but ready to explore her past, including who is her father?

Monica McInerney is one of the stars of Australian fiction, with over a million copies sold in Australia and New Zealand. She is the author of the internationally bestselling novels A Taste for It, Upside Down Inside Out, Spin the Bottle, The Alphabet Sisters, Family Baggage, Those Faraday Girls, At Home with the Templetons, Lola’s Secret, The House of Memories, Hello from the Gillespies, The Trip of a Lifetime and a short story collection, All Together Now.

Bookings are essential and can be made online, here
You will need to download and install Zoom to your electronic device.

If you have questions you would like to ask or memories that you would like us to share with Monica, send via email to: stirling.libraries@stirling.wa.gov.au with “Questions for Monica” in the subject line.

This event is being hosted by Public Libraries Western Australia with Penguin Random House Australia and Dymocks.

Library Spotlight
Ever seen a duck gliding along seemingly effortlessly on the water while under the surface those feet are paddling furiously? That’s libraries. Behind the cool, calm exterior, our army of book wizards are working hard to make sure you have access to what you need, when you need it, as well as an environment that lets you escape the daily grind or focus on the task at hand. Peek behind the curtains and you might find us: sending requested stock back and forth to other WA libraries, repairing well-loved items, providing assistance with tech equipment, delivering items to housebound readers, filming story time sessions for our younger library members, and much more.
