The People’s Art Fair cannot be stopped!!!

Thanks to the confused messaging coming from our bloody government it is unclear whether we will be allowed to let more than six people at a time into the Space from Monday onwards.

That notwithstanding, we continue to move ahead with the plans to open the Peoples Art Fair this Friday.

We anticipate that the new law will limit groups of more than six people being able to enter the show together, but should not reduce our overall capacity (already limited to 25 for social distancing purposes). As soon as we have clarity on our legal status, we will act accordingly. In the worst case scenario we will have to only allow six people into the show at a time.

Twenty-five diverse and talented artists will be showing off their work at the People’s Art Fair, featuring everything from landscape painting to metal sculpture, photography to sticker art.

They are: Brick Project, Dan Petley, Gabrielle Ruffle, Wistful Horizons, Colin Moody, Lisa Travers, Beatriz Leonardo, Oshii, Naomi Clarke, Guy Radcliffe, Zlyzab, Slawek Rzewuski, Beautiful Things In Foreign Lands, Daniel Jones, Bev Milward, Maryem Meddeb, Disphoria Art, Black Rose Arts, Shane Meszaros, Mark Skelton, Merran Coleman, Object... and Zamzam.

The PRSC and all our crew will continue to ensure the safety of our artists and visitors through social distancing, mask wearing and limiting capacity to 25.

Don’t let the pandemic, or the tories ruin another wonderful weekend.
Come along, show solidarity, help keep our venues alive and support your local artists.

Opening night: Friday 11th September 6 – 9pm.

Open 12 – 6pm daily from Saturday 12th through to Sunday 20th September.

Late opening until 9pm Thursday 17th September.

Free entry.

PRSC out & about

We support a whole range of activities around Bristol by lending kit out - paints, rollers, ladders, our bangin' bin sounds system. Here's just a few things we've helped out with lately...

Our sound system went off to Galgwarn, a skate and social event ran by womxn for womxn, down at the M32 Skate Park last Saturday.

"In yet another male dominated scene, we want to create a space for all womxn to feel accepted and encouraged, uplifted n supported in our skate escapades. These social spaces are for womxn of all backgrounds and flavours, with music provided by a variety of local femxle djs. Crafts, artwork and clothing stalls ran by femxle creators. Galgwarn is a community space, a place to groove to some tunes, spread love, and kick some wicked flips."

Environmental activist groups from the ‘Brandalism’ network, which includes Adblock Bristol, have launched a national campaign of billboard and bus stop ads parodying traditional car adverts, such as the one below on the St Werburghs mini-roundabout. Job Opportunities

This week in pictures

The new mural wall we hinted at last week is finally complete, and well worth spending some time in front of - The Invisible Worker have collected lockdown tales from precarious workers so there's plenty to read.

Last Friday we held our first socially distanced People's Comedy show - a sell out! Our newly painted floor helped people keep in their 'bubbles', and we had face masks and comedy-themed visors in abundance.
