Good morning

This month, we have articles on constructive dismissal and the 'final straw', remote monitoring,  unfair dismissal, gross misconduct and homophobia.

There is also a last call for bookings for next Wednesday's webinar on the financial and legal implications of the end of the furlough scheme.

We hope you find them useful and, as ever, if you have any queries, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Many Thanks

Paul, Kate, and Chris

What is constructive dismissal and the 'final straw' doctrine?

A constructive dismissal takes place when an employee resigns in response to a fundamental breach of contract on the part of the employer. Paul Burton, specialist employment and HR lawyer examines a recent case and looks at the final straw doctrine.

Unfair dismissal, gross misconduct and homophobia

Chris Dobbs looks at a recent case concerning homophobia, gross misconduct, unfair dismissals and the use of anonymous evidence.

Monitoring workers at home

In case you missed it, Chris Dobbs took a detailed look at what promises to be a significant issue in coming months. Can you monitor employees when working from home and what should employers consider?

Last call for our September webinar

We still have some spaces available on our webinar next Wednesday. We will be joined by Steve Ashworth from PKF Francis Clark and will be discussing the end of the furlough scheme and its implications for employers from both a legal and financial point of view.
