ASI Revision process continues to advance

The Standards Committee has commenced final discussions and deliberations on recommendations put forward by the Working Groups.

As each week flies by, the ASI Standards Committee (SC) and Working Groups (WGs) continue to work diligently on the Standards Revision process to ensure that it stays on schedule. The SC have recently commenced their final discussions and deliberations on the recommendations put forward by the WGs with respect to the revision of both the Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard, their respective Guidance documents, Claims Guide and Assurance Manual. The Standards Committee is participating in an intensive two-week work session to approve these revisions for the commencement of the consultation period in early 2021.

ASI Accredited Auditing Firm suspended for inappropriate practices

In the past months, we have unfortunately witnessed several cases of collaboration between auditors during assignments related to the ASI Auditor Training, which has resulted in a short-term suspension of the Accredited Auditing Firm involved.

Collaboration between auditors on assignments is a violation of ASI instructions as noted in both the ASI Auditor Competence and Assessment Procedure and the Fulfilling ASI's requirements to become an ASI Accredited Auditor instruction. When such a violation is identified, the ASI Secretariat may undertake sanctions such as suspension periods or de-accreditation of the individual Auditor/s and/or the Accredited Auditing Firm. Thus, a 6-month suspension from undertaking ASI audits of one of ASI's Accredited Auditing Firms has been applied, and provides a strong reminder to all ASI Accredited Auditing Firms of ASI's integrity principles.

Welcome to New Standards Committee member: Abdoul Khalighi Diallo

Following the nomination period and subsequent deliberations and approval by the ASI Board of Directors, Abdoul Khalighi Diallo has been selected to join the ASI Standards Committee.

Abdoul is currently based in The Netherlands but is originally from Guinea, and has extensive project implementation experience with USAID and Peace Corps projects addressing a broad range of issues related to local communities in Guinea, including nutrition, food security, agribusiness and agroforestry, among others.

We wish Abdoul much success in his work on the Standards Committee and we're happy to welcome him into the broader ASI community.

Please get in touch if your ASI contact(s) have changed

Time passes and people move on to new organisations and exciting challenges. We would request that you contact our Administration Manager Michelle Freesz if there have been any changes in your organisation's main ASI contacts, i.e., primary and secondary contacts and/or finance contacts.

What do you think of ASI's educationAl training modules?

If you have gone through all or some of the online modules, we would love to hear from you!

We are currently conducting an analysis of the effectiveness of our educationAl training program so as to better understand our users' overall experience, which topics are most useful, if the format is engaging, and so on. As learning is a continuous journey, there will be more training modules to develop in the future and we would love to have your input on the current set of modules to inform our plans for future training program development and design of our learning materials.

We kindly ask you to take 5 minutes to give your valuable input to our educationAl feedback survey. A big thank you in advance for your feedback. Your input will help us to continuously improve ASI's training interventions!
