Review of St. Seachnall's Re-Opening Plan

Thank you to everyone for your co-operation over the last few days as we re-opened St. Seachnall's N.S. We are constantly reviewing our plan to ensure that everyone enters & exits our school as safely as possible. Please note the following changes:
  • First Class will start at 9:10 promptly from Monday 14th September and finish at 2:50 to reduce congestion at our school gates.
  • Parents who have a child in Junior Infants and other children in Senior Infants or 1st class may walk from the back yard to the the front of the school and visa versa. We ask all parents and children to walk on the left.
  • Parents should wear masks if social distancing cannot be adhered to on the school grounds.
  • Children from 2nd - 6th should not be in the school yard before 9:20 unless they are bringing a younger child to school.
  • Children are not permitted to play in the staff carpark!
  • All parents and children should enter through pedestrian gates only and not through the main school gate.
  • Parents should stand back from the gates to allow children to enter and exit the school.
Please remember that we all need to work together. Teachers helping in the morning are following the schools plan and it would be greatly appreciated if you could email info@'stseachnalls.ie if you have any questions or issues.

Warm Regards,
Ciara Whelan
Principal

SAFE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
Children who have travelled from countries not on the Green List should not attend school during the 14-day self-isolation period.

Reminder to anyone attending school who has travelled abroad:
Government policy, which is based on official public health advice, continues to advise against non-essential travel overseas for everyone.

It is a requirement for anyone coming into Ireland, from locations other than those with a rating of ‘normal precautions’ (“green”), to restrict their movements for 14 days, and this includes school staff, parents and children or other students coming from abroad to attend school in Ireland.  Restricting your movements means staying indoors in one location and avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible.

Regards,

CHILDREN WHO ARE UNWELL

If your child is unwell, please keep him/her at home.

If your child has symptoms such as diarrhoea, headaches or a sore throat keep them at home for at least 48 hours. These are not common symptoms of coronavirus, but they could be a sign of another infection.

Keep an eye on their symptoms for 48 hours. After 48 hours it's usually okay to send your child back to school or childcare as long as:

  • their symptoms do not get worse
  • they do not develop new symptoms
  • they do not need paracetamol or ibuprofen during these 48-hours

You and the rest of your family can continue your daily lives as usual. You do not need to restrict your movements as long as you are not ill.
