    October Newsletter

2020 has certainly been a challenging year so far.  One of many changes.  We've had to look at things differently and with new eyes.  Now that we're in Level 1 things are slowly starting to get back to some sort of normality. Our new normal anyway.

We'd like to thank each one of our supporters, donors and shoppers, for your continued loyalty and support throughout this tough time.  You held our hand and we appreciate that more than you know.

As the days get longer and there is a sense of freshness, new beginnings, reawakening and new life, we continue with our mission and look positively into the future as we raise funds for the worthy programmes that Goedgedacht runs within their rural communities.

We hope that we can count on your ongoing support as we gallop down the last stretch of this year.

Take care and stay safe.

Till next time...

Nicky and the team
Bronwyn, a proud born and bred Capetonian, has been managing our Mowbray bookshop since February of this year.

Having worked as a librarian prior to joining our family, she loves being surrounded by books and describes the store as “book heaven”, whilst also enjoying engaging with the customers on a daily basis.

What does she do for fun?  Read of course! She also loves spiritual dancing and meeting with friends for a catch up.

A few of Bronwyn’s favourites:
Favourite book genre - crime investigation and thrillers

Favourite authors - Lesley Pearse, James Patterson as well as Kristel Loods whose titles include ‘Troue koek maak nie vet nie’ and ‘Vet feetjies kan nie vlieg nie’

We are so thankful to have such a kind and passionate individual as part of the Help the Rural Child family. Thank you Bronwyn!

GOEDGEDACHT'S PRE-SCHOOL REOPENS

Goedgedacht Farm Pre-school has re-opened!! The staff so happy to be back and welcoming the littlies with social distanced open arms.

Due to Covid-19 and the protocols they they now have to follow, they have had to do everything differently but still with the best interest of the kids at heart. No matter how much things have changed, they remain as committed to providing the best care as they possibly can to their precious kids, just as they always have.

Giving our rural children a head start in life is the driving force behind everything we do. Goedgedacht’s vision is to create Thriving Rural Communities by supporting the communities to become independent and self-sustainable.

They protect and nurture the children until they are ready to enter the working world and adulthood as educated, healthy and confident young people, equipped to make a difference and become leaders who drive initiatives within their communities.

MORE KIND WORDS FROM OUR DONORS

Hi, good evening, - it was enough that I could ring you and have your van come round to collect – I really didn’t expect a letter in return – thank you to all of you who have such a super charity organization.
I do have more stuff which I will get together and ring again.  The two that came out in the van to collect were so polite – it was a pleasure to deal with them.
