ISSUE 24 : 1ST SEPTEMBER 2020 | LATEST NEWS FROM HAFREN ///////////////// www.thehafren.co.uk

Hi All
What should have been the first week of our busy Autumn season, sadly sees us still being unable to stage any shows and our full program being rescheduled yet again. I don’t think any of us would have predicted when we shut our doors back in March that we would find ourselves still in the same situation all these months later.

You will also notice our newsletter is a bit shorter this week. Our usual writers are taking a break for the next few weeks (they really do deserve it!), so please, if you have stories or news to share then do send it in so we can add it to the newsletter. If there has been any items in the newsletter that you particularly enjoyed and would like to see similar again then please let me know, email conference@thehafren.co.uk

Many thanks
Lorna Davies - Editor

The first night will be Friday 17th July on Radio 3 by the specially created BBC Grand Virtual Orchestra, comprising over 350 musicians from the BBC Orchestras and choirs. They will perform a completely original arrangement of Beethoven’s 9 symphonies, created by Iain Farmington.

Farmington describes his work as “taking Beethoven’s music and putting it in a musical washing machine to see which colours run”.
