Dear NFH Community,

Over the past month, we have all learned even more about resiliency. The recent fires have brought a new stress as we think about both the forests and our friends who have been most affected. We are all in mourning for the places that brought us a little more solace amidst the current chaos.

Many of us are focusing ourselves inward to ask what really matters and finding comfort in the little moments that bring joy. While we all know that bigger changes are past due for society and our planet, there are little ways we can contribute and make a difference.  We encourage to you use current events as an invitation to dig in to understand our deepest selves, knowing that, just like the forest, we have an opportunity grow again.

While we can't predict exactly how the next few months will unfold, we know that being a strong community and finding those little joy-filled moments will get us through.

Read on for an article on happiness, some helpful tips on improving indoor air, and a delicious simple, healthy recipe.

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

Finding joy does not have to look like a formal meditation practice, nor does it require anything you don't already have. ‘Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.’ ~Lao Tzu

While wildfire smoke is still in the air, Dr. Soni writes specifically about ways we can support our bodies to stay healthy. Read more...

No bake cookies are a simple treat that we often recommend trying out.  Use a combination of nut butter, coconut, honey and a dry whole grain like rolled oats, quinoa flakes or rice puffs to help them keep their shape.  Here is a link to a similar recipe.  Give it a try and be brave about making substitutions with your favorite ingredients!  You can even hide some spirulina or greens powder in there for extra nutrition...but you don't have to. :)

And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.
