Not only do we say goodbye to Summer and welcome Fall this month, but we also end and start a new year! Shana Tova – wishing you and your family health and happiness this New Year at home. Here's what is coming up this month.

Super Sunday on Sept. 13!

Super Sunday is a powerful day when volunteers, donors, and community members come together to make a difference. It is the largest one-day phone-a-thon fundraising effort of the year, with every gift supporting our community’s 2020 Annual Campaign.

These are very challenging times and we need your support more than ever by making sure our Jewish community organizations are still here to help.

There are two ways to help – all from the comfort of your own home!
  • You can volunteer to call community members for the 2020 Annual Campaign
  • Make your 2020 Annual Campaign gift before Super Sunday.

High Holidays at Home

The Federation has been busy preparing a resource and service webpage for all of our High Holidays coming up. When we went virtual this Spring, we offered a wonderful Passover resource page. We had such a great response, that we decided to beef up a
High Holidays page that offers resources and a detailed listing of what is going on in our community, including our synagogues and other Jewish organizations.

Congregation Beth Shalom
As the Jewish New Year of 5781 approaches in this era of COVID-19, the health and safety of everyone is our number one priority. To that end, Congregation Beth Shalom looks to a new way of experiencing High Holiday services in a virtual capacity.

A calendar and brief explanation of each session are included in this posting, along with dates and times for all High Holiday services. The links to sign up for the services are available to everyone on the CBS website at www.bethshalomindy.org. Please invite your family and friends to visit the website and to register, too. Particularly note the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Young Family Services especially for the children at 9 a.m. each of those holiday mornings. The Interactive Family Services and the Yom Kippur Discussion Group will have their own designated links and registration. Once you have registered, a link to each service will be emailed to you. On the day of services, simply click on that link, and you will be automatically connected.

To enable both members and non-members to fully participate in our holiday observances, the CBS Brotherhood will be distributing High Holy Days siddurs. Each family is welcome to pick up a copy during the designated times. Our Social Action Committee will also be present to receive your contributions for CBS’s Annual Popsie’s Pantry Collection. A list of requested items will appear in the CBS e-news and on the website.
