Uptown on Main Reopens Under New Ownership
|

Michelle Cormier will reopen the gift shop in its same location on Main Street in early September. She said the store’s merchandise will remain the same, with the addition of new brands.
“Most of the things I’m adding are to enhance what was already there,” she said. “I’m excited to get opened up and continue the legacy that Martha Studstill started and become part of the downtown Columbia family."

Hampton Street Vineyard Reopens Under New Ownership

The new ownership team behind Hampton Street Vineyard brings wine expertise and fine dining experience to the restaurant that has operated in the Main Street District for more than 20 years.
Chelsea Carrier, Jonathan Lopez, and Hernan Martinez, the three co-owners, have worked as beverage directors and general managers in dining destinations like New York City and Chicago, at restaurants that have taken home coveted James Beard Foundation Awards.
Hampton Street Vineyard is now open for lunch, dinner, and takeout.

His & Hers Tailoring is celebrating 48 years in the Main Street District this September! The shop is a family owned business run by Thomasena Reynolds and her two daughters.
“I love the wonderful people in the Main Street District. Everyone is very kind, friendly, dependable, and an absolute joy to work with. I am one of the original board members of City Center Partnership, so the Main Street District has a special place in my heart,” said Thomasena.

Congratulations Soda City Market for Being Name 10 of the Best Unexpected Farmers Markets in the U.S.

Soda City Market has been named one of the 10 Best Unexpected Farmers Markets in the U.S. by Garden & Health. According to the publication, the event is “inspired by traditional European street markets,” and features over 150 producer-only (products must be made or grown by sellers) vendors on Saturdays yearlong, rain, or shine. Vendors and food trucks line Columbia’s Main Street selling everything from Thai street food, paella, Belgian waffles, kombucha, and olive oils to handmade art.

Rosie is Out of Quarantine and Back to Roaming the Streets

Rosie is the first electric litter vacuum cleaner with an autonomous driving system and Follow Me system. She will recognize and automatically follow our Yellow Shirts while at work cleaning the streets of the Main Street District. She roams the streets from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, seven days a week. Who is City Center Partnership and the BID?
|
|
In 2001, City Center Partnership was formed to manage the downtown Business Improvement District in the 36-block area bounded by Gervais, Elmwood, Assembly and Marion streets in Columbia, SC. The organization provides public space management, economic development, place management, marketing services, and public advocacy for the Main Street District.
|
The Board of Directors oversee the organization’s mission — to focus on filling vacancies in commercial properties, retaining existing downtown businesses and recruiting new ones, expanding the downtown residential base, and creating a safe, clean, and friendly downtown environment.
