AUGUST 2020

From the Leadership Team

I have been in a few groups recently, both personal and professional, where some version of the question, "what have you learned since COVID-19/quarantine/stay at home/social distancing/etc.?" has come up. At first blush it can seem like kind of a cheesy question. But, people have shared some really insightful, and sometimes surprising, lessons. Malcolm Gladwell says, "what is learned out of necessity is inevitably more powerful than the learning that comes easily." That's got me thinking about what I have learned, what we have learned, what they have learned (whoever 'they' is). Given the necessity of the moment, it seems we have the opportunity for some powerful learning.

GIM Proud

Congratulations to Dr. Judy Regensteiner, Program Director of the Fund to Retain Clinical Scientists, on the recent renewal of their grant from The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is one of ten programs across the country that receive support from this foundation to support young faculty working on clinical research projects and facing demands of extraprofessional caregiving.

Congratulations to our GIM 5280 Top Docs!
Dr. Susan Calcaterra - Addiction Medicine
