There's lots to catch you up on, but for now we'd like to say thank you to Lucy.

Over the past seven years, I've had a colleague who has become the beating heart of the youth and schools project. She started as a volunteer, became a schools work apprentice, and then went on to take on the assistant manager role in The Bridge. Lucy has made her mark in every facet of the project and has been a good friend as well.

During the spring lockdown, Lucy moved to Wolverhampton. She then subsequently decided to move on to new, exciting things over there. We wish Lucy all the very best and pray that her new adventure will be filled with as much success as she found here.

Below, Lucy has written a short letter to you:

Dear Supporters,

With a heart brimming with gratitude for all of the supporters of the Bridgnorth Youth & Schools Project and The Bridge Youth Centre, I am leaving not only my roles as Assistant Administrator, of the Bridgnorth Youth & Schools Project and Assistant Manager of The Bridge Youth Centre but I have also left Bridgnorth.

These last five-plus years have been a true highlight of my life, filled with countless memories of support, opportunities and words of encouragement. Words are not enough to express to you all how grateful I am for the prayer and support given to me over the years.

The support, kindness and help over the years have made an incredible impact on not only the young people of the project but also myself and many other team members. During my employment, I have had the privilege of working not only with some amazing team members, but most importantly I have had opportunity after opportunity to see young people become secure, successful, proactive and independent. All while continuing to grow my youth work and administration skills, and learning so much about myself and my work style, both privately and in a team. Notably conquering my fear of public speaking, using the same skills and techniques to then help young people battle through and overcome their own fears.

Thanks to you all I have grown in confidence, skills and faith. Bridgnorth holds a special place in my heart beyond the title of “my hometown” but as a place where I grew and discovered myself before this next big step in my life.

Thank you all so much!

Kindly,
Lucy Southcombe
