VBS 2020- "For a time such as this..."
COVID-19 restrictions meant that instead of kids coming to us, we would go to the kids-
- an overview of God's faithfulness through the book of Esther;
- 3 days of afternoon visits and 330 bags delivered in our Aquiles Serdán neighborhood;
- Bible lesson, memory verse, craft, treat and snack in a bag;
- VBS skits performed on the back of a truck;
- smiles too many to count!
PRAY: for the spiritual growth of these kids and their parents, for revival in Aquiles, for God's church to grow through these families.

Summer 2020 Interns-
Clara Duffy, Rae Young, Kaia Anderson, Mia Everding, Dawson Finch, Abigail Koch, Emma Noel and Caleb VanEssen
This special group of youth started the application and acceptance process to be I-55 Summer Interns back at the beginning of 2020, none of us having any idea of what would be ahead of us. But despite the challenges of the season, these interns...
- proved patient and flexible, making the most of their 8 weeks with us in Reynosa;
- worked daily to make improvements to Instituto Isaías 55 and our Aquiles neighborhood properties;
- participated in our weekly Outreach activities and Camino de Fe worship;
- were the VBS superstars;
- negotiated a pandemic and hurricane with grace and faith;
- became dear friends to both our mission and Mexican staff.
We are thankful for the time that we had together and for those who supported them both with their prayer and financial giving.
PRAISE the Lord for His faithfulness in fellowship, protection and provision through Summer 2020.

Instituto Isaías 55 - Online
After a short summer break, our deaf school teachers and staff continued to prepare for the 2020-21 school year-
- government COVID-19 restrictions currently prohibit in-person classes at the school;
- our teachers are recording lessons for the students to receive at home via an online platform;
- Instituto Isaías 55 upstairs multi-purpose room has been converted to a recording studio, complete with cameras, microphones and lights;
- our teachers continue training to incorporate a Biblical worldview in all of their classes;
- Instituto Isaías 55 continues to offer Mexican Sign Language classes via Zoom to more than 200 students throughout northern Mexico.
PRAY for the Instituto Isaías 55 staff, teachers, students and families as they begin a new year of academic and spiritual learning.

Hurricane Hanna-
In late July, Hurricane Hanna made landfall as a Category 1 storm and worked her way south over northern Mexico, leaving record rainfall and devastating flooding in many Reynosa neighborhoods. In response,
- the Isaiah 55 community center was readied as a shelter for our Aquiles neighbors;
- we provided breakfast and a midday meal in flooded neighborhoods;
- we helped to distribute clothing and other supplies to flood victims.
PRAY for families profoundly affected by Hanna and PRAISE God for donations making us even more ready for future emergency situations.
