Loss and the Pandemic – It Gets Better
Grieving has been especially hard during this pandemic when we’ve been separated from family and friends, and robbed of the opportunity to say goodbye.
A Psychotherapist’s 5 Ways to Support our Grieving Hearts.
News and Events:

July 30th was UNITED NATIONS WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS.  Our recovery homes, as well as our relapse prevention program, often provide support for survivors of human trafficking.

Here’s a website to help parents identify red flags for online sexual exploitation, a common way human trafficking starts: https://www.missingkids.org/theissues/sextortion#redflags

You can read this important piece: “Trafficking at the Intersections: Racism, Colonialism, Sexism and Exploitation in Canada" put on by the University of Western Ontario’s Centre of Research and Education for Violence Against Women

Thursday September 10th was WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY – Although we are not a crisis response agency, many of our clients struggle with suicidal ideation. Remember, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Social support is one of the biggest buffers against someone taking their own life.

September is NATIONAL RECOVERY MONTH
