APS Zoom Authentication
September 8
Effective Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020 students (grades 3-12) will be required to authenticate (log into the APS Zoom account), before entering a virtual Zoom classroom. This increased security measure should alleviate the potential of outside disturbances and add an extra layer of protection and accountability for students and staff. The district has outlined the login steps by devices, and students can choose which steps are applicable to the device they are using. Click here to view student login authentication options. GO Team Elections
September 8-20
GO Team elections will take place between September 8-20. During this time, Rivers parents will be selecting two parent representatives who will both serve two-year terms. Personal voting links will be needed to cast ballots online. Parents will receive links in two of the following ways: text, email, and/or mail. Candidate information sheets for those running in our election can be found at the GO Team website. Gifted Testing Referral Window
September 1-30
Gifted Testing Parent Referral Window is open SEP 1 through SEP 30 – To request a form to refer your child for gifted program eligibility testing this school year, please click here - https://www.atlantapublicschools.us/Page/21037 for a video orientation to gifted eligibility testing, in addition to the location of the electronic parent referral form. Gifted eligibility testing will take place early in the spring semester this school year. Students Needing Materials
We are aware that some students' parents were unable to make it to the Drive-Thru and might still need either a device or Eureka math materials. If you need to obtain or replace a broken device, please contact media specialist Paula Boston at pboston@atlanta.k12.ga.us. She can work with you directly to assess your student's situation and to arrange for pick-up. For Eureka math resources, please work directly with your child’s teacher who can arrange a time for you to pick up materials on a table outside of the main office.

POD Communications
As many of you know, some neighborhoods and families have formed instructional pods in which small groups of students meet each day in a central location. For the most part, these pods are helpful for all involved. Any extra student support is, of course, helpful. However, we are aware that some of these facilitators have contacted teachers in order to receive links to teachers’ Google Classroom or Zoom meetings. In addition, some have emailed about students’ grades. Our teachers have been instructed to communicate directly with parents, for it is best not to email private or sensitive student or class information to pod facilitators. Parents then can forward their student’s information directly to their facilitators as needed.

Free and Reduced Lunch Form - ALL Parents Please Complete
Last school year, the entire North Atlanta Cluster was a part of the Community Eligibility Program (CEP). This provided free meals to every family enrolled in our cluster. The North Atlanta Cluster will not be a part of the CEP program this year, so we are now asking every parent to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application Form. You may not need food assistance for the upcoming school year, but completing this form could help us receive additional financial support in the future, so please take the time to fill it out.
If you are completing this form because you are requesting free or reduced lunch, you will be notified of your child's status once the application has been processed. Students are expected to pay the full price for meals until the application has been processed and the eligibility status is sent to the school. Please click HERE to complete the application. Again, we are asking ALL families to submit this application, regardless of your need.
