Online Peer Support for Families and Friends

Do you support a friend or family member who has mental ill health?

Would you like to talk with other people who understand the ups and downs of being a support person?

We invite you to join our Online Safe Space peer support group for families and friends. We meet every second Wednesday night to share, chat and listen. Our meetings are held online using Zoom.

Our Next Chats

We've got some guest speakers coming up! We will always make time at the end of a presentation for our group to ask questions and catch up with one another. Presenters will speak for no more than one hour.

Wednesday 9 September 2020 (6.30-8.00 pm)
Dr Aaron Groves (Chief Psychiatrist, Department of Health Tasmania) will join us to have a chat about some of the Mental Health Service Reforms happening in Tasmania and how they might affect us.

Wednesday 23 September 2020 (6.30-8.00 pm)
Alison from Headspace in Launceston will join us to have a chat about what happens at Headspace, who they are and how to access their service.

Wednesday 7 October 2020 (6.30-8.00 pm)
Ruth from Arafmi Ltd will join us to have a chat about boundary setting as a carer. We'd also like to hear about the techniques that you use to set boundaries as a support person.

Everyone is welcome - join us for the entire time or just pop in for a little while!
