Student Advisory Board Applications Now Open

As a valued coach/mentor of a VEX Robotics Program Team, we are looking for your help to find new student members for the second year of our Student Advisory Board. The SAB helps provide advice and competitor feedback on pressing student issues in the REC Foundation VEX Robotics Competition community. The Student Advisory Board’s recommendations will help to influence student goals, services, and overall effectiveness of our robotics programs. We're looking for students to give us their opinions on how to make our programs more enjoyable in order to promote student success. The meetings are done remotely and occur approximately every 4 to 6 weeks over the course of the year.

The deadline to apply is September 18, 2020. Know a student who might be interested? Share the link below!

Host a Girl Powered Workshop

With International Day of the Girl approaching soon, host or attend a Girl Powered Workshop! These workshops can be virtual or small in-person events hosted by our community with a goal to engage and inform young women about STEM and robotics opportunities they might not be aware of. Teachers, coaches, event partners, and mentors are invited to host their own Girl Powered Workshop this October in honor of International Day of the Girl (October 11, 2020).

Alumni Spotlight

"Robotics has always been an integral part of my life and when I mean life, it means as a student in high school, through college, and now teaching robotics to middle school students at Saint Louis School. After having gotten my Bachelor’s in Robotics Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, I wanted to bring my engineering education back to Hawaii to ensure that students who have the passion for STEM are well prepared for the challenges and opportunities on a national and global scale. I am now currently teaching robotics to middle school students at Saint Louis as well as coaching a VEX IQ Team. The greatest reward is seeing my young gentlemen feeling empowered to create and innovate through robotics; they take ownership in their own learning."
