October Thompson Newsletter

We hope you all enjoyed the special newsletter we sent recently of the 2nd guitar in our Masterpiece Series.  If you missed it here is a link to see the stunning work that our crew assembled over the last 18 months. Our custom work is something we take great pride in creating for our customers and to share with the world.

We send all our best to everyone out there dealing with the difficulties related to COVID and our economy.  Thank you, each and everyone of you, who have ordered a guitar.  Also for supporting our dealer network, especially over the last 6 months.  Small businesses, and the jobs they provide, are vital to our local economy.
GUITAR REVIEW - Peghead Nation
Teja Gerken at Peghead Nation recently reviewed this classic Thompson D-EIA with a special mountain inlay on the headstock and abalone rosette. We appreciate his description and playing style to show off the sound of this East Indian Rosewood Dreadnought.
GUITAR REVIEW - Eddie's Guitars
Matt Chulka from Eddie's Guitars has a keen ear, tons of guitar knowledge and is a big fan of our guitars.  He recently ordered several Brazilian Dreadnoughts - here is a review on a Brazilian with a German Spruce top.
A D-BA 42 Style is also reviewed and is on our YouTube Channel.
Thanks Matt for taking the time to review this guitar!
CREW HIGHLIGHT
Jason Hardesty
Jason grew up in LA and was involved in the LA rock music scene from 1986-1996 before moving up to Central Oregon where he has been ever since.  He has been a craftsman in wood working and finishing since 1995 bringing his technical skills to various businesses in the area.  He didn't leave behind his love for music and continues to play in various bands in town. Thompson guitars needed a person that exemplified perfection and when Preston was ready to hire a finish person Jason was on the list to call.
He was available and has brought to our company detailed knowledge that has continued to create the fit and finish that we are known for.   His years of experience using nitro laqucer on various tonewoods continues to be refined and streamlined to generate more guitars out the door.  One of Preston's favorite parts of guitar building was finish, so this aspect was especially important to find the right person to keep Preston's high standard moving into the future.  Jason is irreplaceable and works very hard to make the company proud.
THANK YOU JASON!!

ARTIST SHOUT-OUTS
NPR's World Cafe hosted Billy Strings on 10/8/2020 - take a listen to the interview and a few tunes.  A little more insight into this humble, chillin', talented musician and what he has been doing with his time at home. Thanks Billy for your support!

So many talented young players are out there honing their pickin' skills. Recently Julian Davis acquired a new Thompson Mahogany Dreadnought. We look forward to hearing his talent continue to shine as his career grows!
Al Petteway received his 000-12BA with a Norman Blake burst Thompson four years ago and recently did another video for us.  He played it in the forest by his house - a beautiful spot.
