With the cancellation of OUT on the Brazos this year, we have been spending some time thinking about what Waco Pride Network should do beyond our annual Pride festival. It's something that has been the back of our minds, but this year has highlighted the importance of this conversation.

We want to hear from YOU. We want to know what challenges you face? We want to know what you think Waco can become for our community? And we want to know how we (both Waco Pride Network and the community-at-large) can help?

Throughout the month of September we will be asking for your input. Here are three ways you can get it to us:

Complete our survey (click here)
Comment on a variety of social media posts throughout the month focusing on different topics
Attend our public meeting (this will be held at the end of the month, be on the lookout for a facebook poll to vote on when)

Once we have had a chance to hear from you, we will work out what the community top priorities are and on October 20th we will come back to you with what we have found out and what we plan to do about it.

This year is a different year with a different kind of Pride festival. This year instead of gathering in Brazos Park East we will be Flying our Pride across the city. From October 10th through October 24th we invite you to join us virtually or socially distanced as we celebrate and commemorate our community and its history.

We hope to fill those fifteen days with love, support and community. For now we are keeping our cards close to the chest as we finalize details, but be on the lookout for updates and think...fabulous kites flying through the air.

WACO PRIDE NETWORK YOUTH COUNCIL

Waco Pride Network is planning to start a Youth Council this year. We are now accepting applications for founding members. If you or someone you know is between the ages of 14-19 and is interested in helping build Waco LGBTQ+ community click here.

The WPN is an all-volunteer nonprofit and its efforts are made possible by those willing to donate one's time, talents, or finances to help make our dreams possible.

Whether our volunteers' contributions include a $5 monthly donation, vendor participation, donation of one's precious time, community support, committee membership, or even liking and sharing social media activity, each volunteer makes a huge difference.
