Nominee Bios

Sidney Carpenter

We have been members of Swan Lake since 2015. We love the small family atmosphere. I am mom to Simone and Quincy (9), who, like many kids, learned to swim, dive, and graduate to the deep end all at Swan Lake. I have been with Erickson Living for 14 years where I am currently a IT Business Analyst. I have experience supporting computer applications as a Salesforce Administrator. My expertise is in Salesforce, but that can be translated into other web based applications. Applications include Apttus, Luminate, Riskonnect, and ServiceMax I support operations for many different lines of business including general services, philanthropy, sales, and security. I want to contribute to my community and feel like I have skills that could benefit Swan Lake.

Sthefane Melo
My name is Sthefane Melo. I have been a full member of the pool since last summer. Prior to that my family and I have attended as guests. I have decided to become a member of Swan Lake Board because I love the laid back atmosphere, and the family feel of the community. I am always volunteering wherever my family is involved. I was a board member of the Children of the World Co-Op for 2 years (2005-2007); later I was a board member of Charles Village Recreational League from 2012 to 2015.  I am originally from Brasil and I believe I have some out of the box ideas; a different view - maybe another angle. I hope to help the community grow tighter and more inclusive.

Russ Rezek
My name is Russell Rezek. Professionally, I am the Director of IT at Learn Behavioral (located in Mount Washington), a company dedicated to offering Autism and Educational services to children, K-12. I first joined the Swan Lake Community in 2017. I had been living in Hamilton since 2011, and was looking for a family friendly, diverse, community pool where my son could learn to swim and enjoy his summers with friends. He attends the Green School of Baltimore and some of those families recommended Swan Lake to us, so we decided to join.  We have loved it ever since! I first helped out with some of the potlucks and cookouts. Then, I was nominated to the board for the 2018 season and have served as the Vice President of Admin. Some of my duties included answering email, communicating to the members via Facebook, managing membership through the Member Splash platform, and updating the website. I would like to continue my contributions to the board by revamping the website, upgrading some of our technologies, and improving the overall membership experience. 2020 has been a very difficult year for all of us, especially for the pool community. I would like to help us get back to an enjoyable pool experience in the upcoming year.

Patrick Sheridan
We’ve been members of Swan Lake for seven years. We joined Swan Lake because of the relaxed atmosphere at the pool and the diversity of its membership. Swan Lake is where we usually spend most of our summer. When we first joined, we spent most of our time in the baby pool with Pete (now 13) and Will (now 11). Now that they are old enough to do their own thing, my wife Gwelan and I just talk or read and hop in the pool during adult swim. It’s just a nice, relaxing place filled with wonderful people.  We were members of another swim club in the past and we have visited friends’ swim clubs this summer, and they don’t have the same judgment free atmosphere and certainly aren’t as diverse as Swan Lake. I don’t have any experience serving on a swim club board, but I’m willing to learn and listen and offer my help. I am an attorney with the AG’s office and can assist on any legal issues or contract matters the club may have.  I love Swan Lake and want to see it make it through these difficult times. I would be happy to serve on the Board and ask for your vote.

Tony Tosheff
My name is Tony Tosheff.  My family (my wife Marina & children Noah-9, Julian-7, Theo 4) and I have been members since 2012.  Marina grew up going to Swan Lake, and prior to 2012 we were guests of the Parr Family a few times each summer.   Marina had great memories of Swan Lake as a child, and I always enjoyed the pool as a guest.  After seeing how much the pool is one of the centerpieces of our summer community, Marina and I decided to join.  Ever since I started going to Swan Lake, I saw what a special place it was.   Noah and Julian are on the swim team and during a normal summer our family is usually at the pool at least 5 days a week.   Swan Lake is a great place for our entire family to make and maintain friendships and it has become how and where we spend the majority of our summer.  I volunteer multiple ways at Swan Lake.  I am a member of the Swim Team Committee.  At the swim meets, I work at the Clerk of Course.  We are the group that helps direct the children to get in line for their swimming events.   I have also worked the grill at multiple cookouts.  Previously, I was a member of the pool’s Finance Committee.  For the last 6 years, I have been a volunteer coach at St. Francis clinic soccer for 3 to 7 year olds.  Prior to that, I ran an adult Basketball league.  Professionally, I have worked at Johns Hopkins University for 16 years in the Controller's Office and currently I am an Accounting Manager in Sponsored Projects.  I have an accounting undergraduate degree and an MBA.  I would like the opportunity to give back to our wonderful pool by working on our board.

Roop Vijayan
My wife, Becca, and I joined Swan Lake either in 2009 or 2010. We had friends who highly recommended Swan Lake and it was fairly close by to where we lived. My older daughter, Sophie, was around 2 years old and we wanted to join a community of young parents. Joining Swan Lake was one of the best things we ever did! We made lifelong friends! My daughter and son, Jackson, are swimmers for Swan Lake. Becca helps organize the Swan Lake team and help run the swim meets. I serve as a timer in swim meets. We also volunteer for some clean up days, and for the cookouts. We are part of the Swan Lake fabric. For becoming a Board member, I have served on the Green School of Baltimore and my community association boards. I serve on the Baltimore County Government’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council. While living in Baltimore City, I helped organize to keep Harford Road free of a mega Royal Farms gas station. In my professional life, I am an Assistant Attorney General in AG Brian Forsh’s office and I mainly practice in Finance and Contracts with some litigation. In addition, I serve on the Attorney Grievance Commission’s, Attorneys regulatory organization, Peer Review Committee. I hope to bring my skill set I have picked up along the way to benefit Swan Lake. Thank you for the opportunity.
