Ralph Pugay, Ecstatic dancers in landscape, a series of 10 monoprints, 18" x 24", $600 each

Ralph Pugay joined us at Crow's Shadow for two weeks of August, during which he created a series of ten monoprints called Ecstatic dancers in landscape (follow that link to see all the variations). He also made two Approvals-to-Print for small-edition lithographs, which will be editioned by Judith Baumann and Maggie Middleton in the coming months. 

Pugay is a tenured Professor of Art at Portland State University. He has an MFA in Contemporary Art Practice and a BA in Studio Art, both from Portland State University. He graduated from the summer residency intensive at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (Madison, ME).

DRUM-MAKING WORKSHOP
with Charles Wood III

MAKE A DRUM on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 9 am – 5 pm
 
We are hosting our first workshop since February! Local composer and musician Charles Wood III will lead a group of 9 students through making a Cree Style Round Drum.

-The workshop will be held outside, with masks and social distancing.
-The class is open to any enrolled member of a Federally recognized Native American tribe.
-Each participant will be provided with their own drum kit, including materials and tools. 
-There is a $10 registration fee to save your spot in the workshop, call us at 541-276-3954.

The gallery and studio are currently open by appointment 9–5 Monday through Friday. Please call ahead  and wear a mask if you would like to visit. You can still order artwork online or give us a call with questions. Thank you for your support of CSIA now and always.
