I write to you all today from within the sadness that is everywhere, AND with the reminder that You and I are not that sadness -- We are human beings with hearts whose highest power is to love.

Here are those 5 simple things for your heart:
1. "A hummingbird's wings literally hum." They can flap their wings hundreds or thousands of times per second. Their hearts can beat 1,000+ beats per minute. They are the only birds that can fly backwards. 75% of their weight support during the down-stroke and 25% during the up-stroke. They are small but epic.
2. The human heartwill beat about 115,000 times today, pumping about 2,000 gallons of blood. Every day. You are powerful.
3. My cousin Kyle (a pro photographer) captured this incredible photo of a firefighter saving a woman's life on the ledge of a building. There are heroes out there, walking among us.
