Extreme poverty puts women and children at signficant risk of becoming victims of human trafficking and other forms of exploitation, particularly in Haiti. We created the Children First program to combat this frightening reality.
Each year, Children First transforms the lives of mothers and children through increased access to training, opportunity and ongoing mentorship. An essential component of this program is helping parents gain self-esteem and skills to earn the money they need to care for themselves and their children. Even amidst a pandemic, we are seeing progress as mothers in the program build successful micro-enterprises.
Children First is keeping families together, preventing human trafficking and exploitation, improving school enrollment, and increasing self-sufficiency through income generation. Lives are being changed forever!
