We are welcoming new staff, setting up new spaces, and putting new safety procedures in place. We are confident that we will have a great year ahead! Please see below for some important back to school information. We will continue to send updates as we have them available.
I look forward to seeing you all next week!

Health & Safety

Basics

  • Face coverings are a requirement for all students and staff inside of our school. This is in accordance with both District 196 and Minnesota state policy.
  • During Hybrid Learning, buildings will restrict non-essential visitors and volunteers. Parents will be asked to make appointments for in-person meetings or participate in meetings online.
  • Social Distancing will be enforced in all areas throughout the school and school grounds. Signage will be installed to direct flow in hallways and for social distancing reminders.
  • Students and staff will practice good hygiene and build in time for regular hand washing. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at all entrances, classrooms and common areas.
  • Drinking Fountains will not be used and will be covered. We encourage students to bring a water bottle to school to be filled using the classroom sink.

Daily At-Home Self and Symptoms Check for all Students and Staff

  • Each day staff and parents/guardians should check for each of these symptoms and items before school. If a student or staff person exhibits ANY of these symptoms they should stay home and contact their doctor for follow-up on testing or a doctor’s visit:

  • New chills and a repeated shaking with chills
  • New muscle pain
  • New headache
  • New sore throat

Students or staff should stay home if they:

  • Have one or more symptoms of COVID-19
  • Live with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19
  • Have been in close contact (within 6 feet for greater than 15 minutes, with or without a mask) with anyone who has been instructed to isolate due to illness or a positive test

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunches will be pre-packaged and delivered to each classroom. Students will eat with their classmates either in their classroom, outside, or in the cafeteria with their pod. Meals will be available for 196 Digital Academy students and for Hybrid students to purchase during their at home learning days. More information will be provided about this process when it is available. For general information about our Food & Nutrition Department, please check their website.
