Hello Friends, Family, Supporters, and Partners,

I wanted to give an update on how Art Share LA has evolved during the uncertainty of 2020. Since March, we have produced projects, virtual events, and paid opportunities all in support of underserved, emerging artists. I'm very proud of what WE are accomplishing.

I have fears too! I fear for the state of arts and culture in Los Angeles and the countless performers and artists who have missed their chance to share their work with you. We are reimagining how we present art and how we support artists so that they can sustain in this new environment.

Art Share had a duty to stay alive - to give artists a safe platform that supports their artistic career. In the coming weeks, we will announce new engage arts during this time, but, we need support. If you have the means and believe in the future of ARTS in Los Angeles, please donate today.

Rapid Response.

Since March 2020, Art Share has not stopped creating. Right out of the gates, we produced a daily concert series - HOME SHARE! that provided performers a place to share their music. When businesses begin boarding up, we brought you LET'S PAINT THE TOWN. Everyone was missing "outside" so we produced a month-long virtual gallery exhibition experience "GARDEN" And, we will keep on pivoting until we can have you back in our space.

If this is our “new normal”, then we need to figure out how to create art and pay artists. Artists can’t keep producing and sharing for FREE. – Cheyanne Sauter, ED

Home Share is a Variety Show format showcasing musicians and performers from our extended Art Share family!  Hosted by the amazing Mathew Cuban!

Cultural LOSS.

Pre-covid, Art Share hosted 40 artist-led events each month from Poetry Readings, Book and Album Release Parties, Music Performances, Gallery Shows, Festivals and MORE. It was our specialty to welcome over 2,500 people into our space each month to view join the culture that Los Angeles artists were creating.

Through the end of 2020, our calendar was PACKED with 212 events and classes all canceled due to COVID-19. Plus, we anticipated scheduling another 450 events and welcoming another 22,000 people into our space.

The loss of revenue to Art Share was huge but the loss of cultural programming is MASSIVE!

The Great Pivot.

With the support of the PPP (Cares Act) and the Getty Foundation, we were given the summer months to shift our building to meet the newest needs artists are facing.

By mid-October, Art Share will go digital! Streaming live performances from our stage! And, artists can once again use our space to perform, create, and share it all virtually.  From podcasts, filming opportunities, rehearsal space, and recording equipment - we are excited to help artists enter into this new digital world.
