Catholic Newman Center
at the University of Houston
Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020
The Catholic Newman Center remains temporarily closed in compliance with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston COVID-19 precautions. We are awaiting further directives from the Archdiocese and will provide you updates when we receive them.

Please keep in touch. I look forward to hearing from you. You can reach me via email - johnson.c@aghclergy.org - and on our CSO GroupMe. Let us remain united in prayer and overcome the challenges we face with the hope and strength that God provides.

Padre Charlie
Anyone excited to start seeing "same time as last week"? Or is it just me liking routine...

You can contact Fr. Charlie on GroupMe or email him at johnson.c@aghclergy.org
If you will be driving to campus and need a place to park for Mass, you are welcome to use 13A for parking on Sunday mornings and if the code is #3841.

This code is not to be used any other time or we will lose this privilege.
Talk about Good News!
We will be having Daily Mass once a week starting on September 9th at the AD Bruce. Masks are required and there is currently a max of 54 people for the AD Bruce chapel.

We need people to help with set up, tear down, lector, and someone to stream the Mass from their phone (we will have tripod ready). Please contact Fr. Charlie if you are available on GroupMe or email him at johnson.c@aghclergy.org
More Good News!
Come, Encounter Christ is back! It is only available virtually right now as the Catholic Newman Center is not yet available. We will let you know as soon as this changes.

- We pray for the communities who have been affected by natural disasters, especially those who lost loved ones or had all they owned destroyed. Bless them with strength, hope, and an abundance of help as they begin rebuilding their communities. We pray for the survivors to find refuge in Jesus Christ. Bless the first responders and all who will be helping these communities with compassion and protection.

- We pray for our Small Group leaders as they start small groups this week. Send down your Holy Spirit that they may be in tune with  Jesus, go before us opening the hearts you are calling into deeper relationship with you. Pour out your graces on Small Group Leaders as they begin Small Groups next week.

- We pray for an end to this pandemic and healing to those who are suffering physically, emotionally, and financially due to the pandemic. May they find peace in Jesus Christ.

- We pray for peace and unity in our country regarding race. We for the continued spirit of determined conversion among the faithful to confront practices and policies that promote inequality in our communities and Churches.
