Welcome to the new school year! Over the summer, we have been hard at work adapting our services and spaces to accommodate the changing needs of students and faculty in our new hybrid environment. While reference and instruction services have moved online, we have new options for accessing our physical collections, and library spaces are beginning to reopen for study and computing. Read on to learn What's Happening!

In this issue:

Libraries Spaces Opening for Study and Computing

Select library spaces have begun to reopen for study and computing use, with limited capacity and following Rutgers and State guidelines for social distancing, face coverings, and sanitization. Reference services remain online-only, and circulation services are available through Click and Collect, our version of curbside pickup.

How To: Click and Collect

In case you missed it: the Libraries are now providing access to our physical collections via Click and Collect, our low- or no-contact version of curbisde pickup. Check out the video below to learn more about how to make an appointment.

E-ZBorrow and UBorrow Services Resumed

Interlibrary loan services via E-ZBorrow and UBorrow have now resumed.

E-ZBorrow allows users to borrow books and other library materials from 52 college and university member libraries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and West Virginia, while the UBorrow service offers access to over 90 million books from the collections of 15 university libraries throughout the Midwest and the Center for Research Libraries, including members of the Big Ten Academic Alliance.

Open and Affordable Textbooks Program Reduces Textbook Costs for Students

More faculty than ever before are participating in a program through the Rutgers University Libraries to provide open and affordable textbooks for the fall.

The initiative is estimated to be able to save over 16,400 students a total of more than $2.1 million in the cost of textbooks and other course materials over the next year.
