Dear Kensington Business Members,
Apply for a chance to get your store online for free!
Many of our Calgary small businesses took a hit during COVID-19, and several more are looking at how they’re going to recover. To help, the City of Calgary has teamed up with Digital Main Street and Google Canada to provide free website builds for registered small businesses, including home-based companies and artists, as well as service providers like hair salons, auto shops and the list goes on. If you need a website for your business, we want to build you one. The program is called shopHERE powered by Google and the goal is to get 50,000 companies online so they can reach a wider audience for their products and bring in new revenue. The City of Calgary is piloting the program for up to 90 businesses on a first come, first service basis.
The criteria for businesses to apply are:
-
Have fewer than 10 employees or fewer than 25 employees if you are a café, restaurant or bar.
-
Not be a corporate chain or franchise.
-
Businesses can be based on main street, in industrial areas or be home-based businesses, but must have a Calgary business license.
To apply, BIA members must submit an online application form. Applications will be open until September 24, 2020.
