Budget topic of heavy discussion.
The new City of Seward budget was discussed for nearly all of the city council's 2-hour meeting on Tuesday night. It outlined an overall increase, due in part because of the addition of online sales tax and property tax revenue.
The entire budget, as well as other happenings from the council meeting can be found in the upcoming edition of the Independent.

Homecoming week capped
Seward High School hosts Omaha Gross tonight in the Bluejays' first home football game of the season. This caps Homecoming Week for Seward High, which already carried Netflix Spirit Week through a cross country meet and softball games on Thursday.
Milford also hosts its first football game of the season tonight when the Eagles play Ashland-Greenwood. The Eagles' game last Friday was canceled due to too many players out to quarantine.
