NHS Covid-19 app: what businesses need to do now
Hospitality, close contact services and leisure venues across England are now legally required to log details of customers, visitors and staff and - from today - will also be required to display official NHS QR code posters.
The NHS Covid-19 contact-tracing app has now launched across the country for smartphone users to download.
The posters include a built-in QR scanner which app users can use to 'check-in' to venues quickly and securely and allows public health information to be sent to them if they may have come into contact with the virus. The name of the venue will not be included in the alert.
Venues should display the posters at accessible locations such as entrances. You can create as many posters as you need and, if you have more than one venue, you will need to create a separate QR code for each location.
Create posters.
Businesses must also continue to keep a contact log of customers and visitors to ensure these details are available, if needed, for non-app users. These records must be kept for 21 days and provided if requested.
