September 2020

"'Se Souvenir du passe, et qu'il ya un avenir:' Remember the past, and that there is a future."
 A Discovery of Witches

Someone turned on autumn in Cardiff!
Quarantine, day 10.

The weather is gorgeous and I've got all the windows open to let in the warm sun and breezes. Getting lots of writing done (5pp yesterday!!), lots of reading done, and lots of yoga done in my balcony studio. Good food delivered from @ottolenghi and @waitroseandpartners. Good wine from @berrybrosrudd.

I will be glad to get out with my mask and socially distance in Bute Park next week, but today I am feeling blessed and privileged to be healthy and grateful for clear health guidelines to protect all of us. #BeResponsible #BeResilient
My first Instagram Live, long format!
And I did figure out how to switch the screen around. 🙄 Clicking the image will take you to my IG, and you may need to click on the small arrow there, again, to hear all the news from Cardiff and beyond.
Over on the All Souls Discussion Group on Facebook they’ve started the annual Real-Time Read (RTR) of A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES.
Over the 40 days,
from 18 September to 1 November,
about 16,000 people will be reading and discussing the book as it happens.  There's still plenty of time to join us there, or you can participate on my Author Page on Facebook, where Cat and Jill are re-sharing past RTR posts from the Facebook archives! #SlowReading
Happy Birthday, Lizzie.
Elizabeth Tudor, born 7 September 1533.

Celebrating the life of this legend, Elizabeth I, on her birthday. She was one of the most resilient creatures who ever lived.

Her mottoes: "Always the same" (Semper eadem) "I see and remain silent" (Video et taceo)

It will be shown on Saturday October 10 at 12:15 pm NYC time, 5:15 pm London time, and 9:15 am LA time. Subscribe to the New York Comic Con YouTube channel to watch it wherever you are!
Have just realized if I want an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie for my writing treat today I have to make it myself.

I mean, I always make them myself, but have just realized I must get off my duff and do it. Cookies will not magically appear. There is no spell for that. #thestruggleisreal
Quarantine, day 4.
 #tbr
I've officially made it!
May justice rise up, and hope and history rhyme.

Inspired by THE CURE AT TROY by Seamus Heaney. Sunrise and morning star photo to remind all of us to keep going and be the change we want to see in the world.

September 29: Happy US Mass Market Paperback Release Day for A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES, the 1st book in the #AllSoulsSeries.

Keep your eyes peeled if you venture out (with a mask of course!) to a grocery or chain store, and if you see it in the wild, snap a picture and share it on Twitter for a retweet or on Instagram and I'll repost in my story!
