Springfield School

25 September 2020

Kia Ora Koutou,

Well it’s here. The last day of Term 3. I am sure you are looking forward to a relaxing two week break away from the routines of school.

We have had a wonderful last week of term with our Cultural Day celebrations on Wednesday, followed by our Open Day yesterday afternoon. The children thoroughly enjoyed showing off all their hard work and the teachers welcomed the chance for a casual catch up with so many of you. It is lovely to see you all back through the gates and into the classrooms.
Our Cultural Day was a fantastic success and the staff were really appreciative of the support you showed by having your children dress up and represent their chosen country.
To the parent helpers on the day - Emma Stead, Momoka, Louise Davis, Rebecca Henderson, Vicky Peacock and Pam Aldersley, a huge thank you for your support, we couldn’t have done it without you!

The staff are looking forward to a well-earned break that will prepare them for what is typically our busiest time of year - Term 4!

Have a great break everyone.

Nga mihi nui,

Keri Steele
Principal

****Cultural Day****

Cultural Day was a wonderful opportunity to dress up and explore other cultures from around the world. Here are some highlights from the day...

Levi: It was so much fun. I liked making my passport. We got a stamp when we went to a country.
Payton: We got to eat chocolate!
Zoe: We made origami. I made a fortune teller, a crane and a ninja star.
Katie: I liked going to the other classes and making things.
Charlie: I liked the activities. Each country had one and they were fun.
Nina: We got to visit five countries and use passports with stamps.
Harvey: I liked the Switzerland one because we got to taste chocolate. I liked all the dressing up. We all looked cool!
