Coronavirus (COVID-19)
- All churches are now encouraged to display a 'QR' code in their buildings (and they are legally required in church halls) which links to the Government's Track and Trace system. Find out how to do this.

New Readers licensed
Five people from parishes across the Diocese have been admitted to the office of Reader in the Cathedral. Bishop John conducted the service, licensing the individuals to minister in the parishes they have been called to serve. Read more

Clergy Conference
On 29 and 30 September many of our clergy will gather together virtually to pray, worship and study the bible.
This is the prayer they'll be using at the start and the end of the day, you might like to pray it along with them.

- The University of York and the Church of England have put together a survey on the impact of Coronavirus on churches. Responses from clergy, church staff, congregations and the wider community are encouraged, but the survey closes on 30 September. Complete the survey
- Historic England are on the lookout for a number of dioceses to work with to research viable methods of low-carbon heating and Church Buildings Officer, Mark Carter is considering a submission. If your church might be interested, you can find out more here.

Deanery Consultation

The proposal is to reduce the number of deaneries from 13 to 6.
All are welcome to contribute to this consultation, which will run until Friday 4 December.

Zoom training for church-based toddler groups
Wednesday 21 October, 7.30 - 9pm
Working with, or considering working with, under 5’s? Wondering how to connect with families this Christmas if it cannot be done in-person? If so, this event is for you!
The evening will be hosted by Mission Enablers Sian Morgan, Anne Batchelor and Helen Laird, along with Children’s Officer Emma Pettifer. There will be resources, practical suggestions, top tips and ideas, as well as the opportunity to ask questions, share experience and gain from the wisdom of others.
