Research Highlight

Division members Dr. Shuchi Anand and Dr. Maria Montez-Rath presented their recent research at Stanford Medicine Grand Rounds
Data from a recent publication from the Division of Nephrology's own Dr. Shuchi Anand, Dr. Maria Montez-Rath, Colin Han and Dr. Glenn Chertow was presented at Stanford Medicine Grand Rounds on October 7. Through analyzing and interpreting data from a nationwide sample of patients on dialysis in the US, the study concluded that during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, fewer than 10% of the US adult population formed antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, and fewer than 10% of those with antibodies were diagnosed.

Shortly after the Lancet article was published, it received national attention on new outlets like The New York Times, CNN, and others. Watch the authors present the study during the Stanford Medicine Grand Rounds lecture here
