This afternoon’s installment of the virtual speaker series On Mattering: Voices from the Movement and Beyond, presented by Africana Studies, will feature Alisha Kohn and Saije Schone, Queers for Justice, Newburgh LGBTQ Center at 4:00pm. And on Saturday, the Zoom symposium “Votes for Women: Vassar and the Politics of Voting Rights Past, Present, and Future,” commemorating 100 years of women’s suffrage, will feature keynote speaker Sherrilyn Ifill ’84, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund; Taneisha Means, Assistant Professor of Political Science on the Class of 1951 Chair; and Miriam Cohen, the Evalyn Clark Professor of History. Registration is required for both events.
