DSO EVENT

Free classical music, and a cold beverage on a warm summer afternoon are great ways to take advantage of the summer season.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) wanted to bring the community together by hosting a free social distancing concert as part of their community outreach.

About 100 people attended the concert at Clark Park August 30 from 3-4 PM.

The concert featured light classical pieces from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite, music from George Bizet's Carmen and a beautiful version of Claude Debussy's clair de lune.

Members of the community hope that this will be the first of many concerts performed by DSO musicians, because events like free concerts are inclusive and provide great opportunities for the community to enjoy their parks and neighborhoods.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE!

Federal funds for schools, hospitals, roads, public work and other programs are important to help shape the community for future generations.

Have you completed the census yet? If you did complete the census then you can feel good about the fact that you are helping your community get more than $675 billion in federal funds. If you did not complete the census, then you have until September 30. You can complete the census here

Detroit still has a low count which is why we need your help to make the community a better place for the future generations.
