Letter from BoP Global Network Founder and President

It is a great pleasure for me to announce that the BoP Global Network’s Communications and Outreach will now be lead by GlobalCAD and my colleague Fernando Casado. Fernando has long served as Associate Director of the BoP Global Network, so it is only fitting that he take on this important role in extending the Network’s reach.  He will also be hosting the next BoP Global Network Summit in Barcelona in the coming year—or whenever it is once again safe for us to convene as a community.  I look forward to working with Fernando, his team CAD, and all the Network members in the months and years ahead to harness the power of enterprise to lift and serve the poor.   The opportunity could not be greater as we emerge from the throes of global pandemic.  Let’s use Covid as a springboard rather than a roadblock to take the “green leap” to a truly inclusive economy.

Founder, BoP Global Network

Dear BoP Global Network member,

I hope you are well and healthy.

We are very excited about the start of a new semester, which also marks the start of a new phase for our community. As of this month, GlobalCAD, BoP member of the European community headquartered in Barcelona, will be leading the BoP's communications and outreach strategy. We would like to take this opportunity to share with you the goals we are setting for this new phase as well as the ways in which we hope to act as a catalyser and help our community to better engage, learn and collaborate.

We hope you feel as enthusiastic as we do about the months to come and the new opportunities ahead of us. While GlobalCAD will be managing the BoP Global Network communications tools, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any suggestion, request or recommendation you might have - as always, the strength of our community lies on the engagement and motivation of our members.

Cheers,

The BoP Global Network team

BoP Global Network's new communications and outreach strategy
The goal of revamping our communications and outreach efforts is to help us leverage all the potential of our community of three fronts:

1. To increase knowledge transfer between labs;
2. To increase knowledge generation opportunities, providing content that is valuable and relevant to the community;
3. To increase access to big opportunities and to global funds projects.

To achieve those goals, we plan to create communications materials and platforms such as bi-monthly newsletters; have regional informative meetings on a monthly basis (which has been working really well in our European chapter); and to actively seek and share interesting opportunities on project biddings.

>>> We can only achieve these goals with your engagement <<<
We ask for you to constantly send publications, news, events and other relevant information that you would like to share with the community to the email news@bopglobalnetwork.net, indicating if you would like for us to share that information within the network (through our newsletter) or with our broader community (through our website and social media).
You can also share news directly with all members by e-mailing team@bopglobalnetwork.net.

Please let us know if you want us to add any additional member from your organization to the list (or substitute the contact person we have).

REBUILD BETTER FRAMEWORK (Business Fights Poverty, May, 2020)
This guide can be useful to inform business action to support people's longer-term wellbeing and resilience.
While efforts are rightly focused on the immediate impacts, we need to start thinking about how to recover and rebuild, because action taken now will have long-lasting effects on people's wellbeing and resilience. This Rebuild Better Framework builds on the Response Framework to highlight ways in which business can play a role, individually and in partnership.
Keep informed about the SDGs – Agenda 2030
25 September 2020 marked five years since the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, to implement through 17 Goals.
Over these five years, the governments around the World have aligned the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with national policies and strategies, undertaken concrete actions, measures and initiatives in advancing various SDGs in line with the national priorities, reaching communities and interest groups. Also, some companies have begun to integrate the SDGs into their practices. Check more info at: globalgoalsweek.org
