A Virtual Conference,
for Real World Problems

May 24-27, 2021
SHOW us your WORLD

In the build up to the virtual conference, we want to see where our members are and what they are doing. We invite you to submit a 30 second – 2-minute video around the 5 themes of the conference.
Safety – Health – Risk – Decisions - Knowledge

We are all IAWF – an association is only as good as its members!! So, in the video please use the hashtag #IAMIAWF

Here are some questions you can use to create your video if you wish. Be creative and enjoy.
  • Who are you?
  • Where are you?
  • What are you doing?
  • What are you showing us?
  • What do you like/dislike about your work?
  • What would you like us to know about your part of the world?

CALL for PRESENTIONS
This joint conference offers a forum where past experience and lessons learned are documented, current work showcased, and emerging ideas, science, and technology are presented to provide a strong foundation for reflection and action to set the future course of practice, management, and research in response to local, regional, and global challenges. The 2021 conference will place particular, but not exclusive, emphasis on the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on wildland fire management and communities around the world.

The International Association of Wildland Fire (IAWF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) professional association committed to a non-partisan approach for uniting the global wildland fire community. We were formed in 1990 as a global professional membership association. For 30 years IAWF has grown from a fledging organization to the foremost global member-focused association spanning 26+ countries.

The IAWF was formed to promote a better understanding of wildland fire and built on the belief that an understanding of this dynamic natural force is vital for natural resource management, protecting the health, safety and welfare of people including firefighters and the public, and for harmonious interactions between people and their environment.
