Our office is here to assist with any questions or concerns you may have. We serve as a dedicated resource year-round providing guidance to our parents and family members, events and programs catered specifically toward our family population and important updates about your student's experience.

Although we are not able to offer in-person meetings this semester, we still want to ensure that you can connect with other parents and family members. RCSA Commuter Connection Hours!
Welcome back everyone! The Commuter lounges may be closed but our sense of community over at the Rutgers Student Commuter Student Association is still open to all. First-Year Fellowship
The First-Year Fellowship Certificate Program features a curriculum designed for emerging leaders to cultivate their skills and abilities to become the next generation of leaders. Take advantage of the opportunity to participate in an 8-week, 1.5-credit leadership course, in addition to being exposed to involvement opportunities. Student Centers
As the hub for the Rutgers Community, Student Centers and Activities provides students with much-needed resources, services, and virtual engagement opportunities. Hours for the Busch Student Center, College Ave Student Center, and Livingston Student Center beginning September 8 will be: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 10pm, Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm and closed on Saturday and Sunday. The Centers have been set up to ensure social distancing and protocols to protect the health and safety of our guests. Student Centers will provide students with reliable WiFi, study spaces, meditation and prayer rooms, and much more. In addition, select food vendors within the Busch and College Ave Student Centers will open beginning September 8. Student Center Study Space
Student Centers and Activities has opened up personal meeting room reservations for academic engagement (i.e., online classes, academic sessions, exams and meetings with professors and other Rutgers staff). Rooms are limited to one per day for three hours, with a maximum of two people. Students can reserve space online at the Busch, College Ave or Living Student Centers. University Libraries
Building Access
- Study areas at Alexander (College Ave), Library of Science and Medicine (Busch), and Carr (Livingston) will be open to Rutgers faculty/staff/students beginning September 8th. All others will be closed.
- You'll need to show Rutgers ID and register with security; visits are limited to 2 hours
- Occupancy is limited, mandated by state guidelines, and will be enforced by security personnel
- You must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. No eating or drinking is permitted.
- The first hour of opening is reserved for at-risk individuals. Thank you for showing courtesy to others.
While library building access is restricted, you can request items from most of our circulating collections via Click and Collect. ILL, E-ZBorrow, UBorrow, and Article Delivery are available, and several locations are accepting returns.

Dining Services Updates
Dining Services will be open and operating for the Fall 2020 semester when students return to campus. The following locations will be open: Busch Dining Hall and Kilmer’s Market. Dining Services has modified the style of services being offered per the CDC Guidelines.
Meal Plans are now available for all on-campus residential students, off-campus students and commuter students. Dining plan options are also available for faculty and staff.

Off-Campus Living and Community Partnerships Updates
Greetings Off-Campus Students,
For those who’ve moved into the off-campus community, we welcome you back to New Brunswick. During these uncertain times, we want to make certain you are aware of critical information about how you can prepare for living in the off-campus community while protecting your own health and safety and that of others. We have updated our website with FAQs to assist you as we move forward.
1. REGISTER YOUR LOCAL ADDRESS
If you are a student renting in the local community, please register your local address and emergency contact information with our office so we can keep you updated on municipal information, programming emergency alerts and other helpful information related to living off-campus. .
- NEW BRUNSWICK TENANT PARKING PERMITS
Registration for parking permits is done online with The New Brunswick Parking Authority. You will need a scanned copy of your current signed lease, vehicle registration and driver’s license.
- CENSUS 2020 – DID YOU COMPLETE IT?
If you lived in off-campus housing last academic year (in an apartment or house, alone or with others) you should respond to the 2020 Census using the college address where you would have been on April 1. This is vitally important to the community where you were living. (If you lived in on-campus housing last year this was already taken care of for you!). Here is what you need to do:
- Visit https://2020census.gov/ and click the green “RESPOND” button.
- Select the link that says, "If you do not have a Census ID, click here." (It is located below the Census ID login field.)
- Follow the prompts to enter your off-campus college address (where you would have been living on April 1) and then answer the questions.

Zimmerli Museum Updates
Join Us for Virtual Programs in October
Although the exhibition Angela Davis—Seize the Time is postponed due to the pandemic, the exhibition catalogue is now available and the Zimmerli invites the public to a virtual book launch on October 1, beginning at 5:30pm (ET). Museum interim director Donna Gustafson, who co-curated the exhibition, is joined for an online conversation by co-curator Gerry Beegan, an associate professor in Design at Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts, as well as catalogue contributors Nicole Fleetwood, professor of American studies and art history at Rutgers, and Lisbet Tellefsen, who compiled the private archive that inspired the exhibition. The book launch is free and open to the public, but requires advance online registration via Zoom. Attendees also receive a 30% discount code to purchase the book through The University of Chicago Press.
Meet up with old friends and make new ones as the Zimmerli teams up with Rutgers Global for two social events. On October 6, one of the museum’s most popular programs transforms into Art Before/After Hours, featuring two live streams, as well as recorded content, from 9 to 10am or 7 to 8pm (ET). Explore the Zimmerli exhibition “It makes me think of that awful day…” The Natural World in the Anthropocene, with a virtual tour, a reflection by Rutgers Human Ecology professor Mary Nucci, and a live Q&A with the curators. No preregistration required; log on here at either time. Get creative at Friendship Fridays on October 9, from 9 to 11am or 4 to 6pm (ET), as the Zimmerli joins the Rutgers Global weekly pop-up lounge. Find the Zoom links here.
