Alternative fuels are most popular web search

Policies for alternative fuel infrastructure come top in user searches of the ITF's Transport Climate Action Directory. The online tool has already been consulted over 2 500 times since its launch in July. The audience is highly diverse with interest from all continents and countries in all stages of economic development. Read more

Decarbonising transport initiative for India kicks-off

ITF Secretary-General, Young Tae Kim joined Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog to launch the India component of the Nationally Determined Contributions - Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA) on 27 August. The project aims to promote a coherent strategy of effective policies for decarbonising transport that are co-ordinated among various sector ministries, civil society and the private sector. Outputs from Argentina decarbonisation webinars 

"Opportunity", "Digitalisation", "Build Back Better" were top themes debated during the Decarbonising Transport in an Unprecedented Global Crisis conference held online in July. Over 600 delegates from 53 countries explored how transport decarbonisation policies can promote low-carbon economic growth for Argentina’s transport system following the Covid-19 crisis. See the outputs

ITF joins UNESCAP on ASEAN connectivity project

ASEAN member states seek support for Covid-19 recovery plans with a focus on resilience and sustainability as well as recovery guidelines on cross-border transport. Following the joint ESCAP-ASEAN-ITF webinar in July, UNESCAP and ITF have jointly developed a project on “Recovery Guidelines for Resilient and Sustainable International Road Freight Transport Connectivity in ASEAN”. ITF proposes avenues for multi-stakeholder action

As a focal point for transport, the ITF provided input in response to the UNFCCC High-Level Champions' request for ideas to further strengthen the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action.
